Introduction

Students in Statistics major learn how to analyze various kinds of natural, social and economic phenomena based on information contained in the form of data and how to make scientific decisions. In particular, modern computer technology such as internet facilitates the development of high-quality statistical procedures and makes it possible to apply them to diverse statistical problems in the real world. Therefore, the Department of Statistics aims at educating a broad knowledge of basic statistics, meeting the needs of the times, and producing high quality female resources who can apply statistical knowledge in solving the real world problem. Curriculum includes how to use statistical software program such as SAS, E-miner, Minitab, S-plus. After graduation, there are exciting and challenging opportunities in various fields, many of whom work in government, industrial laboratories, and private companies as there has been an increasing demand for professional female statisticians.

Purpose and goal of Education

The graduate program of Statistics at Ehwa aims at educating a broad knowledge of basic statistics, meeting the needs of the times, and producing high quality female resources who can apply statistical knowledge in solving the real world problem internationally.

  1. Learning advanced statistical theory, statistical methods, and analyzing skills.
  2. Development of skills of collecting data and analyze them to make scientific decisions in a real world.
  3. Production of professional statisticians by facilitating modern computer technology in the development of high-quality and computer-intensive statistical procedures
